About Market Protection

Growth you get to keep.

Everyone selling retirement products has an opinion about the market. Ours is narrower. The part of your savings you can't afford to lose shouldn't be exposed to a year like 2008, and there are insurance contracts built for exactly that job. Market Protection exists to explain them in plain language and put you in front of a licensed agent who can show you the real numbers.

What we do

One conversation, the whole picture

We are an independent insurance marketing service. We are not a broker-dealer or an investment adviser, and we don't manage money. We connect people saving for or living in retirement with licensed agents who compare fixed indexed annuities and indexed universal life from multiple carriers, with the caps, the floor, the fees, and the surrender schedule on paper before anything moves.

The catch, in writing

Every indexed contract has a cap, a surrender period, and possibly a rider fee. You see all three on an illustration before you decide, never after.

Independent, not captive

The agents we work with are appointed with multiple carriers and compare them, including on financial-strength ratings. Nobody is paid to push one company's contract.

Licensed where you live

Your request only goes to an agent licensed in your state. It's checked before anyone reaches out, not after.

Some of it should stay invested

A floor is for the money you can't afford to lose. Growth money often belongs in the market, and a good agent will say so.

To be clear

What we're not

  • An investment adviser or broker-dealer. Nothing on this site is investment advice, and we don't sell securities.
  • A bank. Nothing here is FDIC insured; guarantees rest on the issuing insurance carrier.
  • An insurance company. Contracts are issued by licensed carriers, subject to their terms and approval.
Money

How we're paid

You never pay us. If you decide to move money into a contract and the carrier issues it, the carrier pays the agent or their agency a commission. It's built into the contract's pricing, which is one reason surrender periods exist, and it isn't deducted from your deposit as a separate charge.

We only do well when a contract is still in place years later. Placing someone in the wrong product, or a bigger one than they need, is how this business loses people, so the recommendation is built to hold up over the surrender period, not just on the call.
